LOVE IS FOUND

This effervescent bride got in touch just a week before her ceremony and I am so glad I could make it. This would be my first time shooting in Amravati.

Amravati is the hometown of number of politicians including our ex-president Pratibha Patil. Being a Political Science student I am always interested in visiting/discussing political scenarios around the state.

Here are a few photographs from their ceremony.

NISHA & VINAYAK

Nisha and Vinayak were getting married in Delhi after their Civil ceremony in London. I second shot this wedding with Ram of RAM BALMUR PHOTOGRAPHY  . It was a lovely ceremony spanned across four days in Delhi.

SHAHANA & SHAHRUKH

Shahana & Shahrukh were getting married after a long courtship and I second-shot for this wedding. Shahana & Sharukh are really lovely quiet and private people and so was their wedding.

Very lovely, intimate affair for two days. We started with Shahana’s mehendi.

MAGICAL CHICKOO BAUG

Shraddha a friend and a super talented photographer contacted me via Facebook to take some pictures for her sister’s wedding. The brief was very simple, documenting the wedding and looking for pictures that normally photographers miss. The wedding was a four day long event with very interesting line-up.

Day 1: Rehersal dinner at the Chickoo Baug. This is the part that I was very excited about and very nervous too. Excited because the rehearsal dinner was hosted at 50yrs old Chickoo Baug with lush thick trees. And nervous because of the light but it ended up being the most magical evening I have witnessed.

MAYURI : Portraits on Espousal Day, Mumbai. 2013

A few portraits from an espousal in Mumbai.

The light was a bit less and I could only see black and white images. Most of the images from this day barring a few are black and white and I am glad the couple liked them !

WordPress and Facebook are eating on the sharpness and I am not too happy about it. Perhaps that’s because I usually post from phone.

Anyway, wishing Mayuri & Kiran the very best !

SERENDIPITY

My wedding in December was a major life altering moment for me. It was a day full of emotions for my family and friends.

Today I am writing to thank all those individuals who made that day a very memorable one.

My parents, I honestly don’t know how to thank you both for just about everything that you guys have done for me. I am full of gratitude and will hold the emotion to the entirety of my life.

As I sit here today, trying to find a way to thank you both, I really find it difficult where to begin.

Thank you for giving me serious answers to all my silly questions when I was six. Thank you for all the exhibitions and the concerts that you took me to. Thank you mum for all the pizza dinner nights. Thank you letting me talk to you guys as an equal and sorry for all the rude things I might have said. Thank you for allowing to choose a path of my own and yet being there guiding me through and through. Thank you for leading by example to teach me the value of random acts of kindness. I really hope that just saying a thank you lets you know how much I appreciate you both. Thank you for loving me.

Aji and Aba thank you so much for teaching me everything that I know right from all the sanskrit verses to the values. You were my parents away from my parents. Aba, I missed you so much that day!

Mayuri(both), Sharvari, Ashwini, Shreya, Priyanka, Piyush, Pallavi, Gauri (I really do count you in my sisters brood) Ankita and Navya thank you so very much! We all have grown together, shared the crushes and the heartbreaks and I know that the love will stay on forever!

And thank you so much mamas and mamis, kakas and kakis for taking care of every little detail for the event.

This Thank you letter will be absolutely incomplete without a word of gratitude towards my new set of parents and family. Aai and Baba thank you very much for accepting me so wonderfully and making me comfortable from day one. Aai a special thank you to you for breaking the regular image of a “saans” and being a friend to me. It really nice talking to you! Neha, I really didnt want to part with my sisters I really really love them. But I am getting to know you and I am liking it. It is really nice to have you home!

And a very big thank you to G for giving us a chance which we had never ever thought about. Knowing you when we were genuinely just friends was really nice and seeing this part of you of being my husband I really loving it! Okay now this is getting too emotional so lets move on to some pictures by ever-so-awesome Mr. Ram Balmur!

I am honestly still overwhelmed by the day. The whole day seems so surreal and I cannot believe that we are 10 months old already. But its a very beautiful feeling to be belonging to G.

So in two months we would complete a year and I have planned a little surprise for him after a well deserved hard-working year for the husband. Hope everything goes well and he likes it : )

Love.

BRIDAL PORTRAITS, ROHINI

Rohini,  a  very old and dear friend was getting engaged and asked if I could take some pictures for her personal collection.

I am the happiest when a couple wants some pictures just for them. There were other host of photographers for the event but I was very happy with the job given to me, just some private pictures of the family.

The event was a very small, intimate family affair with just the close friends and family in attendance. I am particularly fond of South-Indian weddings, the old ladies are so adorable there.
